Do
clothes really make the man or does the man make the clothes? According
to some fashion experts, the latter is most certainly the case. Little
known designers experience enormous success when a celebrity or other
person of interest is seen wearing an article of clothing that they
designed. The ever popular "Jesus is My Homeboy" shirt was worn by
dozens of celebrities and sold to consumers through retail
establishments throughout the country just a few years ago. Banking on
its success, other variations of the slogan were created including
"Madonna is My Homegirl" which was worn by the Material Girl herself.
Casual wear is not the only clothing being made popular by celebrities.
Formal wear including vests, ties, and dinner jackets paired up with
designer jeans is all the rage in Hollywood. A recent photo of
singer/actor, Justin Timberlake, showed him wearing a white dress
shirt, checkered tie, fitted jeans, and a black leather jacket with the
sleeves rolled up. The relaxed look of the jeans combined with the
classic business attire, made J.T. look ready for both a meeting with
the boss and a long afternoon of motorcycle riding in the
countryside.
